New active site!! Cabrini Malvern
We are delighted to share that Cabrini Hospital Malvern is the first private hospital to contribute data to the NTD.

We are very excited to welcome Cabrini Malvern as a contributing site and look forward to ongoing collaboration and future research opportunities that will arise from this valuable partnership.

A special thank you to Dorina Heng, Arne Protz, Stefanie Elbracht-Leong, and Vineet Sarode for their significant support with data extraction and project operations at Cabrini, which has been essential in reaching this milestone.

New active site!! Gold Coast University Hospital
We are delighted to welcome Gold Coast University Hospital as the first Queensland site to participate in the NTD.

Gold Coast University Hospital’s involvement plays a key role in strengthening this national resource, which aims to close the vital haemovigilance loop, address critical gaps in transfusion surveillance, and generate new knowledge to guide best practice in transfusion medicine.
A huge thank you to Fiona Clark, Shane George, and Mark Tattam for their involvement and support. We are so grateful for all their efforts so far!!

Governance approval has been granted for NT Health to participate in the NTD. We look forward to working together and extend a big thank you to the NT Health team, including Principal Investigator Tina Noutsos, for their efforts to date.

In March we welcomed Dr Sasha Taylor to the NTD team! As a Research Fellow, Sasha brings extensive clinical and public health expertise. We look forward to collaborating with her on a range of exciting projects.

Blood 2024
We thoroughly enjoyed attending the Blood 2024 combined Annual Scientific Meeting, where the NTD was showcased through a poster and an oral presentation. Congratulations to all involved, with a special mention to Chris Berry, who presented on 'Developing a Model to Predict Need for Red Blood Cell (RBC) Transfusion, Using Machine Learning Tools'. Well done to everyone for their hard work and contributions!

At the 2024 Blood Synergy Open Meeting, NTD Data Manager Dr Cameron Wellard delivered a compelling presentation on the NTD. The presentation offered an insightful overview of the data encapsulated within the dataset and provided an illustration of the type of information that can be extracted from the NTD.
